Castleford say they are aware of reports that winger Greg Eden is facing trial over an alleged attack on a female.

Eden, 28, played in the golden point defeat to Hull KR yesterday, his first appearance in a month.

He was charged with assaulting a female, occasioning actual bodily harm, in May and appeared at Leeds Crown Court last month.

According to the Pontefract and Castleford Express, he denies the charge and a trial date has been set for 22 April 2020.

In an anticipated statement, Castleford said: “Castleford Tigers are aware of the report of an incident involving Greg Eden.

“The club will not be making any further comment regarding this matter at this time.”

Eden, who has been at Castleford since 2017, has scored 13 tries in 20 appearances this season.

He previously played for Huddersfield, Hull KR, Salford and Brisbane.
