Amos Roberts was in sparkling form as he claimed a hat-trick which laid the foundation for the win, and left Castleford still chasing an elusive first home win of the season.

After the sides traded early penalties, Roberts and Phelps touched down to put Wigan in the driving seat.

Cas hit back with two tries from Shenton to give them a 12-10 lead but Wigan led at half-time as Richards took a high ball to score.

Wigan hit form in the second half however and a Joel Tomkins‘ try was quickly followed by Amos Roberts‘ second to all but secure the game for the visitors.

It got worse for the Tigers as Tomkins scored again before Chase was sin binned for fighting.

Despite playing with 12 men, Michael Wainwright touched down in the corner for Castleford but Roberts soon completed his hat-trick for Wigan.

Cooper ensured the Tigers would have the last word however to provide some consolation.
