Players past and present along with parents, helpers and volunteers all came together at Kippax Welfare in July to help make their clubhouse and grounds a better place for everyone.
Following the RFL initiative ‘Give Back to Your Club’, Castleford Tigers player Andy Lynch and assistant aoach Danny Orr, along with ex-player Grant Anderson and their families, all gave up their free time to be a part of the volunteer day giving back to the club where not only their children now play, but all three Cas stars started their rugby league careers on those very pitches.
With more than 50 volunteers giving up their day many jobs were completed.
Danny Orr was full of praise for the day: “It was great to see so many of the next generation from the Kippax community all pulling together to help the Welfare.
“I had a fun morning painting with my son, and was proud to be part of the day. It was a great day had by all and something that we should do every year to help grow this fantastic community club.”
Andy Lynch said: “It was great to see so many parents and kids come together and work as a team to make our club a better place to be.
“Playing most of my junior days here at Kippax and coaching here since I was 18 it was great to be involved and do my part with my family to make a noticeabkle improvements at Kippax.
“This is the first time that we have run the ‘Give Back’ intiative at Kippax and the day was a real success and on the back of that we are aleady planning a second day before the end of the summer.
“The end result is that we all want a safe and clkean club where the kids and parents are proud to say they are a part of our club.”
