Castleford have confirmed Jake Webster and Jamie Ellis as their latest signings for 2013.

Webster will join the Tigers from Hull KR, where he will have spent five seasons with the East Hull club since joining in 2008. He will spend three years at the Probiz Coliseum up to the end of 2015.

Ellis was officially allowed to speak to other clubs on Monday, after Hull FC confirmed he would not be offered a new contract and that there was no place for him at the KC Stadium. Ellis has signed a two-year contract beginning at the start of next season.

Tigers coach Ian Millward said he was delighted to have secured the signings of an experienced centre in Webster.

He said: “He is a damaging runner and can create fear in opposition’s attack with his defensive qualities.

“I believe the paring of him and Michael Shenton; two specialist International centres, who will be up there amongst the best in Super League next year.

“Jamie is a player I think has an abundance of talent, he has a wonderful kicking game and is a player who has played regular Super League with Hull this year. He reminds me very much of an Australian style half back who likes to take the ball to the line.”

Webster and Ellis become the second and third signing for 2013 at Castleford after Michael Shenton announced he would be returning to the club as he prepares to leave St Helens at the end of this season.
