Cas quiet on Millward rumours

Castleford have refused to comment on speculation that coach Ian Millward has been sacked.

Millward, 52, has been in charge of the Tigers since the start of 2012, but has managed just seven Super League wins during his time at the club.

Reports surfaced early on Tuesday morning that the club had dispensed of his services, a day after the Tigers appointed Steve Gill as chief executive on a permanent basis.

The Australian coach has previously been in charge at Leigh, St Helens and Wigan, as well as at NRL side North Queensland Cowboys.

Castleford currently sit bottom of Super League with just three points.

They host last season’s basement boys Widnes in front of the SKY Sports TV cameras on Saturday.
