Castleford have loaned prop Ryan Boyle to Halifax for the rest of the 2016 season.

Tigers head coach Daryl Powell is keen for Boyle to get the opportunity of regular game time.

“This is a great opportunity for Ryan Boyle, to go out on loan, and get some game time with a very good Championship team,” Boyle said.

“Halifax are competing at the top end of the Championship, I know Richard Marshall well, and Ryan will get quality coaching as well as competitive game time at Halifax.

“Ryan hasn’t played for a number of weeks and it’s crucial that he is able to get back on the field and compete at a high level of rugby league.”

Tigers CEO Steve Gill said: “Ryan has a great opportunity to play some regular football with a quality championship club and I’m sure Ryan will benefit for his time there. Halifax will certainly benefit from having a player like Ryan in their squad.”

Halifax head coach Richard Marshall said: “Ryan is an experienced Super League player – we already have lots of them in our team already – but I think he will complement them.

“With the reports I have heard about Ryan, he is a top professional. We look forward to him enhancing our environment. We lack a little bit of experience in certain areas.

“The pack hold their own at times, but it’s important we strengthen in that area.”
