Carney handed three-match ban

Castleford winger Justin Carney has been handed a three-match ban after being found guilty of making a Grade C dangerous lift.

Carney, 24, appeared in front of the RFL disciplinary committe for a dangerous throw on London Broncos forward Shane Rodney during last weekend’s 30-30 draw between the sides.

It is a third ban in four months for the in-form winger, who missed two matches in March for punching a fellow player and served another suspension in April for a dangerous throw.

He will miss games against Leeds, Hull FC and Wigan as Castleford aim to keep themselves away from the foot of the table.
