Carney could miss Challenge Cup semi-final

Castleford could be without winger Justin Carney for their Challenge Cup semi-final against Widnes on Sunday.

Carney, 26, will face a disciplinary tribunal on Tuesday evening after being charged with making a Grade B dangerous throw on London’s Thomas Minns during the game between the two sides on Sunday.

If found guilty, Carney is likely to receive at least a one-match ban, ruling him out of the game at Leigh Sports Village.

The Tigers are also sweating over the availability of back-rower Weller Hauraki, who was handed a two-match suspension last week.

His appeal, over the charge for recklessly striking with the knees, will also be heard tomorrow night.
