Penrith Panthers duo Caleb Aekins and Jack Hetherington have both left the club for new opportunities in 2021.

Aekins, 22, has played 12 NRL matches for Penrith, including eight this season, and will join Canberra Raiders for the 2021 season.

He made his NRL debut in 2018 at full-back for the Panthers against the Cronulla Sharks.

He said: “I’m really excited about joining the Raiders next season, they’re a great club and they have a record of giving players an opportunity.

“Before that though I’m still committed to the Panthers and I’m ready to go if I’m needed before the end of the season.”

Hetherington, 24, joins Canterbury Bulldogs on a two-year deal from 2021, having made his debut for the Panthers in 2018, before going on loan to the New Zealand Warriors last season and playing in six matches.
