Canberra Raiders re-sign Sam Williams with Aidan Sezer exit imminent

Canberra Raiders have given half-back Sam Williams a new two-year deal, with Aidan Sezer expected to leave the club.

Williams, 28, made 24 appearances for the Raiders in the NRL last season after arriving from Super League side Wakefield.

The half-back has penned a two-year deal with the Raiders, with a 2021 option in the club’s favour, according to NRL.com.

The re-signing of Williams all but ensures Sezer’s exit from the club. Canberra will have Williams, Jack Wighton and new recruit George Williams competing for spots in the halves in 2020.

Turkey international Sezer has been heavily linked with a move to Huddersfield on a three-year contract.
