Canberra Raiders half-back Sam Williams has signed a new two-year deal with the club.

The 28-year-old was off-contract with the Raiders at the end of 2019 but he has now put pen to paper on a new deal that will see him stay at the club until the end of 2021.

Williams re-joined Canberra from Wakefield ahead of last season, where he went on to play 24 games in the 2019 NRL campaign.

He said: “I was always comfortable about getting the deal done and its an exciting time to be involved with the club.

“We’ve got a good squad and we’re in a position now where we can threaten for a title next year.

“I’m happy to play whatever role I can in getting the trophy down to Raiders HQ.

“Canberra’s always been home for me, the club’s always been good to me and I’ve had a good relationship with everyone here.”
