Canberra stalwart Terry Campese has been named as skipper for the upcoming NRL campaign.

Campese, 27, will lead the Raiders alongside vice captains David Shillington and Brett White after being announced as captain at the club’s official season launch.

“I love the Raiders and I’m extremely honoured to be named Captain of the club I have been a part of since my youth,” Campese said.

“There’s been some magnificent leaders in the past including the most recent in Alan Tongue and I hope I can continue on from where he left off.”

Five eighth Campese will be keen to re-establish himself in the Raiders set up following an injury-plagued 2011.
