Widnes forward Hep Cahill is excited at the prospects for next season and is pleased to be part of a squad that he believes can push for a place in the top four in 2017.

Cahill’s appearances this season have warranted the activation of a third year contract option, which will see him continue to ply his trade with the Vikings until the end of the 2017 campaign.

“I’m really pleased to be a part of this stable squad with some exciting young players coming through, too,” he said.

“Our experience this year will continue to increase our mental toughness.

“We can definitely improve and push for a top four spot.”

Vikings Head Coach Denis Betts said: “It is fantastic for the Club to have Hep here. He has been with us since we entered Super League and is a real stalwart. He grows in stature each year.”

“He is a great team player, with a fantastic work ethic and he leaves nothing in the tank.

“I think Hep has even more to offer. And he is always keen to improve his game.”
