Wynnum Manly have confirmed the signing of St Helens stand-off Travis Burns for 2017.

Burns is joining the Queensland Cup side on a one-year deal.

Love Rugby League broke the news of Burns’ move last week.

The halfback has spent the past four seasons in Super League with Hull KR and Saints, and is currently on the books of Leigh.

Wynnum Manly CEO Hanan Laban said the former Cowboys and Panthers playmaker wants to win a premiership before he retires.

“The last thing he wants to do before finishing playing football is win a title,” Laban told The Courier-Mail.

“Wynnum Manly is considered one of the premier clubs of the competition so we are very disappointed with not making the play-offs this season.

“We recognised the fact that we needed to recruit a player like Travis to provide a new energy and give us every chance of getting back in the top four next year.”
