Burns set for Eagles return

Sheffield Eagles could be boosted for their Championship Shield campaign by the return from injury of hooker Greg Burns.

The highly rated prospect has been struggling to recover from a shoulder injury which has kept him sidelined for the whole of the 2016 season.

“Greg is coming back to full training in the next week or so which is great news for us and the lad,” Sheffield coach Mark Aston told his club’s official website.

“It will be great to get him a game before the end of the season which will give him a bit of confidence after a fairly horrific injury.”

Aston is also hoping that his team can lift themselves for the Shield campaign, as he is not bringing in any more players.

“We have some confidence and some belief,” he said.

“We shouldn’t have any doubts now going into this final stretch of the season.

“I am really happy that we have had a break, the lads have been refreshed and they are buzzing knowing that we have a big game against Halifax to look forward to at the end of the week.”
