Burgess wants NRL return

Luke Burgess says he wants to return to the NRL when his stint with Salford finishes at the end of this year.

Burgess has signed for the Red Devils for the rest of 2016, but the former Manly and Souths prop is already planning a move back to Australia.

“I have left my family behind in Australia and that is where I see myself long term and after football,” he told The Daily Star.

“This is a chance to play some good football and look at finding myself a club back in Australia for next year.”

“I am always quite motivated, that is how I approach things and I don’t want to do things half heartedly.

“I have certainly not come here to pass a bit of time, I want to play some football.

“I would be an idiot not to take this opportunity. It’s a good chance to put myself on show.”
