Bumper Crowd Will Save Fax

Halifax RLFC have announced that a crowd of 5-6,000 against Whitehaven at the Shay on 3rd September will save the famous old club from going out of existence.

Debts may see the club go out of business in as little as three weeks if they do not find the necessary funds to stay in existence.

The LHF National League One club could be wound up at an extraordinary general meeting on the 11th September if this cannot be done.

But club directors are still hopeful that they can keep Halifax RLFC alive.

"There remain opportunities to rectify the club's cash shortfall," said Halifax RLFC company secretary Michael Steele.

"The best of those is the fixture against Whitehaven at The Shay on 3 September.

"A gate of five to six thousand people would generate sufficient cash to ensure the club's survival."
