Bulls Orford move could be blocked

Matt Orford‘s big money move to Bradford could be in doubt after Gold Coast winger Chris Walker threatened to take action against the Bulls.

Titans winger Walker was widely believed to be on his way to the Grattan Stadium for next season, and rejected a new contract with his current NRL club.

However, the Bulls apparently decided against the deal to sign Orford instead, which now leaves Walker without a club for 2010.

Walker’s manager Chris Orr revealed that he will be lobbying to the RFL to block Orford’s Bradford move.

He told the Australian Ten Network: “We will be looking at all options and the players association will be looking at all options and until Chris Walker‘s situation is resolved I can’t see how they can sign Matt Orford.

“It sets a terrible precedence if clubs can stockpile contracts sat on their desk and pick and choose who they want to activate.

“There has got to be a duty of care.”
