Bulls add Davies to their ranks

Bradford Bulls have confirmed the signing of trialist James Davies until the end of the 2017 season.

The prop forward joined the Bulls prior to the round nine fixture against Sheffield Eagles, after taking time out of the sport following a career in personal training.

“It’s came as a bit of a shock this week – I was trying to not get my hopes up for anything, but when it did it was a dream come true,” said Davies.

“I don’t really look at rugby in a way that puts me in the limelight. I turn up with the team, work hard alongside them and hope everything we do lets us get the win.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to come full-time and train with a professional outfit – I am very happy.”

Bulls’ boss Leigh Beattie added: “He’s a real strong player – he has great drive and he’s very physical. He just needs to tweak up on some of the finer things and he’ll get there.

“When we brought him in on his trial, everyone could see that he had potential. He’s a personal trainer so he is in great condition – we just have to train him to rugby standards and I’m sure we can have a player in him.”
