Bulldogs pluck Rooster Perrett

Canterbury coach Des Hasler has moved to sign experienced New Zealand international Sam Perrett.

Perrett will join the Bulldogs effective immediately after being granted a release by the Roosters to take up a three and a half year deal.

A World Cup winner with New Zealand, Perrett has 148 NRL matches under his belt, having made his debut for the Tricolours in 2004.

Perrett is the second Kiwi international to join the Bulldogs in recent weeks, with enigmatic full back Krisnan Inu moving to Belmore from the Warriors last month.

He will be joined at the Bulldogs by his younger brother Lloyd, who will join the club’s Toyota Cup squad.

“With the ongoing injury issues we have been facing with our outside backs Sam is certainly a handy pick up,” said Hasler.

“He is a New Zealand Test player and has a wealth of first grade experience.

“Lloyd is also a solid acquisition for our 20’s program. We look forward to having them both on board.”
