Batley have retained the services of half-back Gareth Moore for the 2013 season.

Moore, 23, returned permanently to the LoveRugbyLeague.com stadium at the start of the year following a stint in Super League with Wakefield.

The Scotland international, who came through the ranks at Leeds, impressed in helping the Bulldogs to their 2010 Northern Rail Cup triumph.

Chief Executive Paul Harrison said: “We’re delighted Gareth will be with us again next year, particularly as he has been monitored by several other clubs this season.

“With both Gareth and Ben (Black) committed for 2013, I’m sure they will be pivotal as we challenge for honours next season.”

Moore managed just five appearances in the top flight with the Wildcats, scoring one try and 14 goals.

He also spent time on loan at Halifax and York during his early days, when still on the books at Headingley.
