Bulldogs clash biggest test: Scott

Saturday’s clash at NRL leaders Canterbury will be the biggest test of the year for North Queensland, according to co-captain Matt Scott.

The two teams will meet at ANZ Stadium, a venue where the Cowboys haven’t picked up a win since 2006.

And despite Monday night’s victory over Wests Tigers, the match against the Bulldogs will be a huge examination of the Cowboys’ chances of landing a top four spot, says Scott.

“We’re getting a bit of momentum, but there’s a lot of work left to do,” Scott told the Cowboys’ official website.

“The Bulldogs down in Sydney, that’s going to be the biggest test of the year for us, especially coming off a short turnaround.

“We’ve got to build on it (the Tigers win).

“There’s definitely a lot of improvement left in us.

“Defensively, the first half in particular, was pretty poor so we’ve got to work on some things during the week and continue to build.”

The Cowboys leave for Sydney on Friday but still have injury concerns over Ashley Graham, Tariq Sims and James Segeyaro.
