Buchanan banned for offensive tweet

Dewsbury winger Austin Buchanan has been handed a five-match ban for an offensive tweet posted back in September.

Buchanan, 29, was found to be in breach of RFL Operational Rule D1.8(c), engaging in conduct which is prejudicial to the interests of the game.

It means he will sit out Dewsbury’s pre-season matches and the first three fixtures of the 2014 season.
