Brown to assess Sculthorpe form

Huddersfield Giants coach Nathan Brown will consider whether to offer Danny Sculthorpe a contract at the club.

Brown will make an assessment of Sculthorpe’s form before making a final decision.

The 29-year-old forward joined the Giants on loan from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in May.

“We basically said come and train for a few weeks and we’ll give you four or five weeks of football”, said Brown. “A few weeks’ time is probably when we will sit back and talk about [a deal].”

“Front row is obviously an important position in the game and we have got some areas in our roster we need to improve. We feel Scully coming here has given our squad a lift.”

Michael Korkidas made the opposite move to Sculthorpe as part of the initial deal in May and he may be part of any new deal between Huddersfield and Wakefield.

Brown added, “It’s been a win-win for both clubs and we will probably be a bit more aware of what we are going to do in three or four weeks.”
