Brown relishes Galpharm return

Nathan Brown is looking forward to his side returning to action at the Galpharm Stadium this Sunday, with Hull FC the visitors in the claret and gold’s 2011 home opener.

The Giants open up their home campaign in Engage Super League XVI against Richard Agars side, something Brown admits that he is relishing.

He said: “It’s good to be back at the Galpharm Stadium for the first time in a competitive fixture this year and playing at home is always good for us. I’m sure our loyal supporters are looking forward to it and I’d imagine there will be a good crowd for a game that everyone involved with the Giants will be looking to provide a good response in.

“It’s very rare in the past couple of years that the guys have put together two poor performances in a row so I’d be surprised if we didn’t get a decent response.”

Brown is backing his side to bounce back from a disappointing defeat to Castleford on Saturday with visitors Hull FC looking for their first victory of the season.

“Clearly we were all really disappointed with the defeat to Cas, having watched the game again early this week we as a group were even more disappointed than on Saturday evening.

“The team we put out there was a good one and one we would have expected better from, unfortunately we didn’t get the required effort and we never displayed the right discipline to put ourselves in a position to win the contest.”
