Huddersfield stand-off Kevin Brown will miss the start of the Super League season as the Giants injury woes continue.

Brown, 27, picked up an injury in training on Tuesday and scans revealed ankle damage which could keep him out for a month.

It is yet another blow for coach Nathan Brown ahead of their opening game against Wigan at the DW Stadium, with the likes of Luke O’Donnell, David Faiumu and Larne Patrick already amongst those in the treatment room.

However, they have at least received a boost by the news that Michael Lawrence has returned to first team training.

The 21-year-old has been out of action for three months after undergoing surgery on a wrist injury.
