Hunslet Hawks have confirmed that a trio of players have signed new, one-year deals which will keep tham at the club during the 2016 season.

Half-back Simon Brown, back rower Mufaro Mvududu and prop Lewis Reed will all be part of the Hawks’ squad for next season now.

“Simon has settled in well at the club since his arrival from Halifax and was instrumental in our late surge to try and fight of the possibility of relegation, his kicking game is second to none and were delighted he’s agreed to stay,” said Hunslet director of rugby Darren Williams.

“Mufaro proved a shrewd signing from London Skolars and had a number of impressive displays in the first half of the season, he will only benefit from his first season of Championship rugby.

“Lewis had had a stop start season through a number of injuries but came back into the side in the later stages of this season and his form warranted him keeping his place.

“It’s a good start to our 2016 recruitment plans, and the fact the players stated they enjoy their rugby under head coach Barry Eaton, and the environment we have created at the club, means were doing a lot right and players are showing loyalty to the club.”
