Brough exit talk dismissed by Huddersfield

Huddersfield have rubbished newspaper reports that half-back Danny Brough is to leave the club.

A report in the national media suggested that Brough was to exit the John Smith’s Stadium having had an apparent fall out with coach Rick Stone.

He scored eight points in Sunday’s 16-16 draw with Wigan, and after the game the Giants released a statement.

Managing Director, Richard Thewlis, said: “I have seen the press article that has caused such understandable concern with our support base.

“It is without any substance, however given the damaging nature of the article we have no choice but to pass the matter to our lawyers.”

Scotland international Brough has been at Huddersfield since 2010.

He has previously played for Dewsbury, York, Hull, Castleford and Wakefield.

Leeds, St Helens and Widnes were reported to be interested in his services.
