Broncos will tough it out

London Broncos prop Antonio Kaufusi has reiterated the need for his side to stay strong and stick together, as they currently lie second bottom of Super League, level on points with Widnes.

As the Super League takes a back seat for the EnglandExiles encounter this Saturday, the Tongan believes the break will hugely benefit the team.

He said: “The importance of a strong relationship back in London is a big one. Everyone back there has to come closer so we can string a few wins together.

“This week will freshen everyone up a bit. We will still continue to work hard in training in the hope we can turn our season around.”

Kaufusi made the move from the NRL, to the Broncos in August and said about how his time has been so far.

He added: “I’m really enjoying my time at the moment, it’s great, the squad down there are a good bunch. They have made it easier to settle in.”

The Southerners picked up their first win in seven at the weekend when they narrowly beat Widnes 28-24.

Kaufusi scored the winning try as the hooter sounded, his fifth try in 17 outings for the Broncos.

He previously played for Melbourne, North Queensland and Newcastle in the NRL, as well as playing a game apiece for Australia and Queensland State of Origin, before opting to switch allegiance to Tonga, who he represented in the 2008 World Cup.
