Brisbane showed enormous strength of character to defeat Melbourne Storm 16-14 in a thrilling clash at Suncorp Stadium.

The Broncos came from behind to register scores through Israel Folau, Steve Michaels and Peter Wallace while the Storm mustered tries through Billy Slater and Kevin Proctor.

Anthony Quinn was placed on report for a raised elbow which floored Sam Thaiday in a challenge that illustrated the intense rivalry between the two clubs.
