Leigh may have confirmed their Championship title with their 40-24 victory over Dewsbury Rams on Wedneday evening, but Ryan Brierley wants things to get even better.

The scrum-half is now keen for the Centurions to kick on and claim a spot in Super League once the Super 8s section of the season is concluded.

The Centurions will be in The Qualifiers with four Super League teams, as well as three of their Championship rivals.

Leigh will be presented with the Championship trophy on Sunday, following their fixture against Doncaster at Leigh Sports Village.

“It will be party time on Sunday – we’re building for bigger things and that’s certainly the middle eights,” said Brierley, according to BBC Sport.

“If we’re going to be competitive then we need to be a lot better than tonight.”
