Ryan Brierley has rejected the chance to re-join Castleford and he will instead sign a new contract with current club Leigh.

Brierley, 21, has been prolific for the Centurions since joining from the Tigers, finishing top of the club’s try-scoring charts in the last two seasons.

Leigh director Andy Mazey is delighted to have secured a new two-year deal for the young half-back. He said, “It gives me great pleasure to announce that we are able to retain and reward one of the game’s brightest young talents.”

Brierley himself had this to say: “I’m excited to be part of Leigh Centurions‘ long-term plans.

“Playing for Leigh means a lot to me and it’s clear that, having spoken at length with representatives of the new board, that the club is ambitious and its plans match those of my own – to play in Super League.”
