Hunslet have handed a one-year contract extension to winger Lee Brickwood.

Brickwood, 21, joined the Hawks from Wakefield last winter, and was an ever present for the club in 2012.

Director of Rugby, Darren Williams said: “Lee made a huge impact at the club last year and although it was a learning curve for him as he adapted to Championship Rugby his form and confidence grew as the season developed, he is a pleasure to work with and is keen to improve his game further.

“His versatility also came to the fore as he had game time playing in the centres and occasionally in the back row and were thrilled he has agreed to continue his development at South Leeds despite interest from several Championship clubs.”

Brickwood, a product of the Wildcats academy, scored five tries in 25 appearances last season.
