Brent Webb faces long spell on sidelines

Catalan full-back Brent Webb could miss the rest of the season with a back injury.

Webb, 33, picked up the injury in the recent match at Warrington, and a timescale of four to six months has been set on his return.

Head Coach Laurent Frayssinous said: “It’s obviously a really bad news, especially after Scott Dureau surgery. They are two key players in the squad and two of the best players at their position in Super League.

“The team had to face a couple of bad news since November and has always found the strength to overcome that.

“The Brent Webb long-term absence is an opportunity for others players who deserved it to play in Super League and earn their place in the team sheet.”

Webb only joined the Dragons from Leeds in the close season.
