Brenko Lee will link up with cousin Edrick at the Dolphins in the NRL from 2023.

The centre will make the move from Brisbane Broncos, who granted him a release from the final year of his contract with the club in 2023.

The 26-year-old outside-back signed a two-year contract with the Broncos ahead of this season.

Lee will join the Dolphins on a two-year deal from 2023, linking up with cousin Edrick.

The pair were both born in Brisbane and previously played together with the Canberra Raiders. They also made their State of Origin debuts for Queensland together, being part of the Maroons’ series-deciding win over New South Wales under Wayne Bennett in 2020.

The 26-year-old also won the NRL Premiership with Melbourne Storm. He featured in the centres in the 26-20 win over Penrith in the 2020 Grand Final.

Chief executive on new signing Brenko Lee

Dolphins chief executive Terry Reader said: “We are very pleased to sign Brenko for our NRL debut.

“He performed well at Origin level under our coach Wayne Bennett and has also played at the Storm alongside Felise Kaufusi and the Bromwich brothers, who will form the core of our leadership group.

“Let’s not forget he has also won an NRL Grand Final.

“And importantly, Brenko is from Brisbane so understands the history and success the Dolphins have had in their 75-year history.”
