Bramley ready to go

Troubled Bramley are finally ready to get underway against Huddersfield Underbank in the Conference National League this weekend, and caretaker coach Chris Gardner insists his side are ready to go.

The Buffaloes have struggled with injuries and player recruitment over the close season following the departure of former coach Mark Butterill and the brief tenure of the experienced Peter Roe at the helm and have been forced to postpone their two opening matches but Gardner, who played professionally with Bradford Northern, Keighley and the original Bramley, is looking forward to Sunday’s challenge:

“It’s been tough over the past few months but we’ve come through the other side and now we’re all revved up for Sunday for what promises to be a thriller at home to Huddersfield Underbank who did so well last season to reach the Grand Final.

“We were forced to postpone our opening games at Featherstone and home to Kippax due to player availability and we’re thankful to both clubs for their understanding. It’s a situation we’ve been the victim of many many times at this level over the past eight years so it’s only fair in that respect.

“We are hoping for a big crowd on Sunday at Stanningley for the season opener. Anyone who’s pulled on the Bramley shirt is only too well aware of how much of an impact our vocal fans can have on the action,” added Chris.
