Bramley and Roe part company

Bramley Buffaloes and Head Coach Peter Roe have decided to part company and current assistant Chris Gardner will now prepare the team for the start of their 2011 Co-operative Rugby League Conference National season.

Roe took charge of the club late in 2010 but his own personal work commitments within the Probation Service and other outside influences have led to him to take the decision to stand down.

As a result of the departure the Buffaloes, who have reached five Grand Finals in their seven year involvement in the league, have rearranged their opening day fixture against Featherstone Lions this coming Saturday. The Buffaloes first game will now take place against Kippax Knights on Friday 6th May at Stanningley’s Arthur Miller Stadium.

Roe commented: “I’m grateful to the buffaloes for giving me the opportunity to get back into coaching and whilst i was only there for a short period of time, I’ve enjoyed my time with them and wish them all the best for the forthcoming season.”

Chairman Martyn Cheney commented: “We would like to thank Peter for his service to the club and wish him all the best for the future. Much of his training knowledge and expertise within coaching has been passed on Chris Gardner, a well respected veteran servant of the club as a player since our reformation in 2004.”
