Bradford’s Toovey linked with NRL return

Geoff Toovey could be on his way out of Bradford before he even officially coaches a game, after he was linked with a return to the NRL.

Visa problems have kept Toovey away from taking up the role of head coach at Odsal, to which he was appointed in January.

Leigh Beattie has handled the reigns at the Bulls since the start of the season following a turbulent off-season that saw the club go out of business and then start again with a 12 point deduction in the Championship.

Former Manly coach Toovey is being linked to the vacant role at Wests Tigers, after they sacked Jason Taylor at the weekend.

He’s by no means the favourite for the role, having been added to a shortlist that includes Ivan Cleary, Laurie Daley and interim coach Andrew Webster.
