Bradford have handed full-time contracts to two of their Under 19’s academy squad.

The two players are Alex Mellor, a back row forward who signed from Halifax side King Cross, and Nathan Conroy, a hooker from Bradford Dudley Hill.

Both were members of the England academy squad that played in France last month and  they will join the Bulls full-time on July 1st and begin training with the first team.

Head coach Francis Cummins said:

“It’s all about producing players for the first-team and now they are going full-time you will see the benefits of that.  We’ve already had a look at Alex and Nathan in the first-team environment and that’s what we’ll do with other players as well.

“The academy side has had a tough season but Alex and Nathan have still stood out and you can see their talent.”
