Bradford win Championship Shield

Bradford have won the Championship Shield after a 27-16 victory over Sheffield at Odsal.

The Bulls won their first piece of silverware in ten years.

The home side started the match strongly, racing to an 18-0 lead after 22 minutes.

But the Eagles hit back with ties to Menzie Yere and Rob Worrincy to touch down.

In the second half the game tightened up and was in the balance until Kris Welham bagged a brace in the final 10 minutes.

Dane Chisholm slotted a drop goal at the end to put the result without doubt.
