Bradford wait for Gale news

Bradford face an anxious wait over the injury suffered to half-back Luke Gale, who will see a consultant in the next 48 hours.

Gale, 24, suffered ankle ligament damage in the 54-16 defeat against Wigan on Sunday, when team-mate Elliott Whitehead fell on him whilst making a tackle.

A close season signing from Harlequins, Gale was playing in just his third match for the Bulls.

X-rays showed no break, but he could now face an operation to repair the ligament damage, which was uncovered when swelling on his ankle had gone down.

A Leeds academy product, Gale made his name in Championship 1 with Doncaster, before landing a Super League deal with Harlequins for the 2009 season.

Last year, he scored seven tries in 26 Super League appearances, catching the eye of Bulls coach Mick Potter, who brought him to Odsal for 2012 alongside ex-Crusaders’ half-back Jarrod Sammut.
