Bradford have signed former Castleford back Jack Sanderson on a one-year contract.

The 22-year-old, who can play anywhere along the backline, came through the ranks at Hull before making three Super League appearances for Castleford last season.

Sanderson said: “I am really happy to be here, already after the first session I felt welcomed by all the players and staff and having spoken to John about the aspirations of the club it really sold the move to me.

“I want to be a part of Bradford’s journey and cement my place in the team here, it has been a few years since I have strung some regular games together and I want to be able to help the club get back into Super League.

“I can bring a lot of pace on the edges and can cover anywhere from one to five. I am a confident player and that will come with a run of games in the side, it will be good to finally get out in front of the Bradford fans so they can see what I can do in person.”

Bradford coach John Kear said: “I am absolutely delighted – Jack is a player who spent time at Doncaster and has also got Super League experience with Hull FC and Castleford and I always thought he was pretty good.

“When we spoke to Jack and his agent I jumped at the chance to bring him in. I know full well he sees this one-year deal as an opportunity to earn a longer-term stay.

“He’s big and fast. Having done my due diligence on him and speaking to people within the game, everyone has spoken of his positive attitude and how well he applies himself.

“He can play one to five and can also kick goals so there is a number of plus points with bringing in a player like Jack. He adds further competition for a starting jersey.”
