Ebon Scurr re-signs with Bradford

Bradford have secured the future of young forward Ebon Scurr on a two-year deal, despite interest from Super League clubs.

The Bradford academy product burst onto the scene in 2019, making his debut against Barrow before becoming ever-present in 2020.

Scurr has made 16 appearances in 2021, scoring three tries.

Bradford boss John Kear on new deal

Bradford head coach John Kear said: “I am absolutely delighted, it has been well documented that there have been Super League clubs interested in Ebon Scurr and I understand why. I am absolutely delighted to have got his signature for two years.

“That in itself is a bonus because one, he is a very good rugby league player and two, he came through our system. It is good to show we can hang on to these players despite Super League interest.

“Ebon knows the two years brings stability. I have spoken to him about where I feel he can improve, he knows where he can improve also and it is about putting those strategies into practice.

“He will have to train well in pre-season and perform well in the trial games as unlike last year, we have competition in every position which gives me a great deal of joy.”

Bradford recruitment

Wales international Dan Fleming committed his future to the Bulls on a new two-year contract. Sam Scott is a handful of new faces joining the club, signing from York.

Leaving Odsal, Sheffield have signed Bradford centre Ross Oakes.
