Bradford duo re-sign

Bradford pair James Clare and Omari Caro have both signed contract extensions with the club.

Winger Caro and outside-back Clare have signed on the dotted line until the end of 2017 and 2018, respectively.

Both players joined halfway through 2015. The Jamaican currently has 13 Kingstone Press Championship tries, whilst the former Castleford speedster is on 11.

“Rohan is a really intelligent man and I’ve got on with him really well over the last couple of weeks and I like what he is trying to achieve,” Clare said.

“Bradford is a massive club compared to some of the clubs that are in the Super League. The following which Bradford has and the base it has, it’s just a massive club which doesn’t deserve to be where it is.

“For me as a player, personally, I want to play in the Super League and hopefully we can get Bradford there and I’d love to be with the team in the top flight.”

Caro said he has always wanted to stay with the Bulls since he arrived.

“I played my way into a new contract last year and really happy to have signed again for a few more seasons,” he said.

“Competition for places is always good as we push each other a bit harder each week to get in the team. With Rohan coming in I was really looking forward to working under him and he was one of the main reasons why I have extended my stay at the club.”

Coach Rohan Smith sees potential in both Clare and Caro

“Both Omari and James have come across as impressive characters since I’ve been here and there is a lot of potential in both of them and we’ll be working hard to unlock their potential,” he said.

“They’ve both got great finishing ability and James has got some versatility as he’s able to play fullback and winger, and at centre as well, and it’s great to have such a versatile player.

“Your wings and fullback are where you build your attacking threat. Omari has got some great finishing ability and some catching ability, which we need to take a bit more advantage of.

Then James is learning the game at fullback quite quickly, so it’s good to have those two with such pace and the finishing ability in the team.”
