Bradford have signed Cronulla full-back or stand-off Brett Kearney on a two-year deal.

Kearney, 26, who will team up with the Bulls in November, is expected to fill the Stand Off berth at the Grattan Stadium. He was outstanding for Cronulla in 2008 but suffered a season ending foot injury in the first game of the 2009 season. Now fully fit he is looking forward to joining the Bulls in for 2010.

“Playing in England is something I’ve been thinking about and coming off contract this year, it was a good opportunity to come over. Bradford have been a club at the top of the Super League for a time now and that obviously played a big part.

“They are a very professional club from everything I’ve heard. This year they had a few injuries and things didn’t go their way but at the back of the end they were fantastic by all accounts.”

Bulls Coach Steve McNamara said: “He’s had a tough year but had made massive strides before the injury and is very highly thought-off in Australia.  We know all about Brett’s pedigree and when he played well, Cronulla played well.  He’s very elusive, scores tries and will bring a lot to us. He is a bit of a free-spirit type of player and is someone you wouldn’t tie down too much. “
