Bowen relishing Broncos clash

Wigan full-back Matty Bowen is looking forward to playing against NRL opposition, when the Brisbane Broncos travel to northern England for the World Club Challenge.

The Warriors are set to tangle with the Broncos at the DW Stadium on February 21, and Bowen believes that the English side can match their Australian opponents.

“You always want to play against the NRL and the game against the Broncos should be a great occasion,” Bowen told his club’s official website.

“But there are a tough couple of weeks in store first, as we need to play well in the games before to get selected for the Brisbane fixture.

“With the team we have I think we can match any side, however saying that we have to start playing well, but I just can’t wait to get out there to be honest.”

Bowen is in the second year of his spell in Lancashire. Whether he stays for another remains to be seen.

“I will just see what happens,” he added.

“I do not want to make a decision straightaway and will see how the season goes. I will probably know more in the middle of the year.”
