Bowen cleared after high shot

Wigan full-back Matt Bowen is free to play in the World Club Challenge after being cleared by the RFL’s match-review panel.

Bowen was put on a report for a high and late tackle on Scott Grix during the Super League defeat to Huddersfield’s on Friday, but the panel deemed the penalty awarded by Richard Silverwood was sufficient punishment.

It ruled that initial contact was with Grix’s shoulder.

Wigan’s 27-man squad arrived in Auckland on Monday ahead of Wednesday’s warm-up match against New Zealand Warriors.
