Super League have announced that Blossoms will headline the entertainment at the 2018 Grand Final.

The Stockport-based band will perform at the biggest night in Super League and treat the crowd to a selection of their greatest hits such as ‘Charlemagne’, ‘There’s A Reason Why (I Never Returned Your Calls) and ‘I Can’t Stand It’.

Blossoms have previously played at a number of UK festivals including Glastonbury, TRNSMT, Reading & Leeds and the Neighbourhood Weekender, as well as performing at international festivals like Benacassim, Lollapalooza and Sziget.

On playing pre-match and half-time at the Grand Final, Blossoms said: “After attending the Challenge Cup final last Saturday, we’re all looking forward to playing a few tracks at one of the biggest dates in the sporting calendar.

“It will be a genuinely great day out.”

Blossoms have also supported the likes of The Stone Roses, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Kasabian and Liam Gallagher.

They are set to embark on a European tour at the beginning of October before heading out on a sold-out UK tour in December.

On Blossoms performing at Old Trafford, Super League chief executive Robert Elstone said: “I’m delighted that we’ve secured Blossoms to perform at the biggest night in Super League.

“Our Grand Final always provides incredible excitement as the two best teams in Super League battle it out to be crowned champions.

“Blossoms will make the night even more special, performing to a packed out Old Trafford before the game and at half-time. It’s a pleasure to bring such a popular and contemporary band into the Super League family.”

The 2018 Super League Grand Final takes place at Old Trafford on Saturday, October 13 (6pm).
