Blease disappointed with Carney decision

Salford CEO Ian Blease has expressed his disappointment at the two-match ban handed to Justin Carney.

Carney pleaded not guilty to Grade C contact with a Match Official in the 36th minute of the game against Huddersfield Giants.

The independent tribunal found Carney guilty and he has received a two-match ban plus £300 fine.

Blease told Love Rugby League: “I’m very, very disappointed with the verdict and that it seems there are some inconsistences with regards to incidents of his nature and the sanctions.

“As a game we need to look into the messages it sends out where there are inconsistences.

“I would like to thank fans from all clubs who have given Justin their support on this incident from the onset, and I still beleive it was reactionary not deliberate.”
