Blake Austin’s container-sized trainer collection

Blake Austin has up to 50 pairs of trainers – and he can’t stop buying them!

The 28-year-old became Warrington’s first-ever marquee player in 2019 as he joined the Wolves on a three-year contract from Canberra Raiders.

Austin and his family came over to the UK at the start of last year, with a full container of his footwear arriving not longer after.

He said: “Its a bit of an expensive habit but you’ve got to spend your money on something I suppose!

“My kids are growing up now – I’ve got an eight-year-old son so he is enjoying my sneakers and my wife likes her sneakers too. I love my sneakers and I like my fashion but I just wish it was a bit cheaper.

“All my sneakers came over in a container. I brought a few other things over but first and foremost, I was wondering how I was going to get all my sneakers over and the container was the best way for that.

“I’ve probably got about 10-15 really good pairs and then 10-20 not as crazy pairs. As I’m getting older, it is hard to justify spending money on sneakers but I just pray that my son is able to be the same size feet as me so I can pass them down to him, that’ll be pretty special.”

Austin has a passion for sneakers, with standout pair being the Adidas Yeezy Boost 750s in light grey, which are on the market for more than £1,500.

He added: “I love my grey gums at the moment, my Yeezy 750s – but they don’t come out of the box too often.”
